Ari Trausti Guðmundsson
Ari Trausti Guðmundsson has chiefly been active as a non-fiction writer in the fields of geology, volcanology, astronomy, environmental science and mountaineering. Educated as a geophysicist in Norway and Iceland, Ari Trausti is very well known as an author and free-lance consultant, and also from numerous radio and television programs and documentaries that he has written and hosted, including a TV-series on music in Iceland. He is also noted as a mountaineer, Arctic traveller and contributor to scientific exhibitions and museums. Ari Trausti has published poetry, short stories and three novels. In 2002, he received the Laxness literary prize and prizes for communication in science in 2007 and 2010.
