Departure from Reykjavík in the morning using specially built 4-wheel drive vehicles which is the ideal way to explore Iceland's off the beaten tracks to many of the most fascinating and secret places in Iceland. We drive to Þingvellir national park, a remarkable geological site and the most historic site on the island. The beautiful canyon running through the park is actually the meeting point of two of the earth's tectonic plates and the area's combination of natural phenomena and historical significance make it inseparable from the fabric of Icelandic nation life.
Afterwards we continue to the Geysir hot spring area. There we will discover the famous Geysir which has given its name to hot springs all over the world. You will see one of the most active geysers in the area, Strokkur, spouting up to 30 meters.
At Hotel Geysir we will stop for a delicious buffet of seafood, vegetables and meat courses. Furthermore the buffet includes wide selection of fresh salads, three kinds of soups, homemade bread and a wide selection of delicious desserts. Coffee and tea is included in the buffet.
Onwards to Langjokull Glacier, the group will enjoy a wonderful 1 hour snowmobile tour. For the snowmobile tour we provide all participants with warm overalls and helmets, and gloves, hats and over boots if needed. Two persons per snowmobile, switching halfway.
From there we go to one of the most impressive waterfall in Europe, Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall). Here you will see thousands of tons of icy water thunder majestically down in a double-fall into a deep gorge, surely a powerful sight. Drive back to Reykjavík in the afternoon.
